Day 1: Manali- Leh: 3 Days / 4 Nights.
This route takes you from the lush alpine landscape of the Kullu valley over 5 high mountain passes through one of the most awesome terrains in the world. Your first night is spent in the district capital of Lahaul- Spiti - Keylong where you get to experience the vast barren region dotted with re-forested areas. The next day you reach the vast plains of Sarchu - where you stay at a comfortable tented camp. Here experience the vast region of the Changthang Plains that extend into the high mountain plateaus of Tibet. This region consists of some of the most endangered wild life species in the world comprising of the Snow Leopard, the Tibetan Wild Ass (locally known as Kyungshu), the Churu a wild sheep noted for its fine wool and the Ibex.
Day 2: Manali- Spiti- Kinnaur- Shimla-: 9 Nights / 10 Days
This excellent trans-Himalayan tour takes you over the two high mountain passes of the 13,050 feet high Rohtang La and the 14950 feet Kunzum La into the mountain desert land of Spiti, with its wide river basin and dramatically located monasteries of Ki, Dhankar, Kungri, and Tabo. Tabo is also known as the Ajanta - Ellora of the Himalayas famous for its frescoes and wall paintings still amazingly well preserved for over a 1000 years. Your tour goes through this stunning landscape into the verdant valley of Kinnaur and ends at the capital city of Himachal Pradesh - Shimla. This town is known for its heritage buildings, which were built in the late 19 th century when Shimla was the summer capital of India of British India.
Day 3: Manali - Kangra Valley- Pathankot via Macleodgunj: 7 Nights/ 8 Days
This tour takes you into the lush green tea gardens of the Kangra valley and high up into the vibrant town of Macleodgunj where the Tibetan Government in Exile is located. It is here also where His Holiness The Dalai Lama resides. Go through an invigorating tour that offers you splendid views of the gigantic Dhauladhar range of mountains and ancient temples.
